Lug those costume boxes out of your closets, basements, and attics! Start planning for a Halloween-themed fun afternoon of roller derby with Bay Area Derby. . . in December.
Bay Area Derby is beyond excited to get spooky with you at our second Golden Brawl on December 16, 2017. The event is made up of two parts:
11:30 am - 3:00 pm: Boot Camp: Intermediate to advanced training led by our Bay Area All Stars
2:30 - 8:00 pm: Golden Brawl: Spooktacular Edition - A mixed-level Roller Derby Scrimmage for all genders 18 and up
Registration ends December 9 to give BAD staff enough time to form teams. We will email you by December 10 to let you know what team you’re on so you can get your shirts and costumes ready!
If you already signed up and were teamed for the original October date, you will remain on that team unless you request otherwise by December 9.

Golden Brawl
Spooktacular Before Christmas Edition: An Interleague Halloween Roller Derby Scrimmage featuring:
Creeptastic Creatures (green)
Jumpin’ Jack-o-Lanterns (orange)
Ghoulish Ghosts (white)
Wicked Witches (purple)
This is a mixed level scrimmage, however, you must be affliated with a roller derby league, 18 years or older, and cleared for contact/scrimmage. Teams will be sorted once registration has closed on December 9 and/or we have reached the maximum number of 16 skaters per team. We will email you by December 10 to let you know what team you’re on so you can get your shirts and costumes ready!
Bay Area Derby skaters will be reppin' the fandoms as bench coaches for the afternoon. Dressing in theme is encouraged (but not required) and there will be awards for the best costume on each team!
All Stars Boot Camp
To effectively maximize each skater’s time and space on the track as well as attention from the coaching group, the camp is limited to 30 skater participants. This boot camp is intended for intermediate to advanced skaters. Unlimited spectator passes are also available for people to take notes on drills and strategies while off skates.
This boot camp is intended for intermediate to advanced roller derby players who are 18 and older, have passed WFTDA minimum skills, and already have some experience playing in roller derby games. If you’re a new skater interested in roller derby we encourage you to check out our Reckless Rollers program or Beginner Skater Clinics.

Waivers:
Before you can skate you must sign an event waiver. A copy of this waiver will be emailed to you and also available at registration day of the event. To expedite check-in, please print, sign, and bring your waiver with you the day of the scrimmage.
